The MS in 数学 is a thirty-six-hour program designed for students interested in pursuing doctoral study in mathematics or in pursuing careers in industry or 业务. 类 in the 数学 program are distinguished by their small sizes and dynamic culture of learning, encouraging students to realize their academic potential and to continue on to productive careers in academia, 业务, 和行业.

学生 take courses in algebra, 分析, 拓扑结构, 应用数学, discrete mathematics and a wide variety of electives, providing a strong foundation in the advanced study of mathematics that supports the development of research or professional specialties. For maximum flexibility in the pursuit of an individual professional goal, the program may be completed either by writing a thesis that advances significant research in the field of mathematics or by conducting a one-semester research project in close supervision with a faculty member.
